    March 5, 2020

On Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Albany Marriott, the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region celebrated and recognizd our 2020 Trailblazers and introduce a new award: WERC’s Community Leading Star.

    December 18, 2019

We are excited to announce that The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region is merging with the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC), effective January 1, 2020.

This partnership will allow The Women’s Fund name and activities – including giving scholarships and emergency funds, and the Trailblazers Awards Luncheon – to not just continue, but to grow. We’re thrilled at the possibilities this merger will mean for expanding The Women’s Fund’s impact.

    March 8, 2019

On Friday, March 8, 2019, the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region honored three outstanding women of achievement at its eleventh Trailblazers Awards Luncheon at the Glen Sanders Mansion.

Through their generosity of spirit, and leadership, they have blazed trails to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our community.

I am writing to express my gratitude for your generous $5000.00 Women's Fund of the Capital Region Scholarship. I was thrilled and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship.

I am double majoring in Nanoscale Science and Engineering and Computer Science at SCCC.

We may not be able to solve all the issues women face in the world, but one-year scholarships through The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region are making a difference for women in our community today.

Here’s what one local woman said of the scholarship she received through The Women's Fund:

"Every day I encounter woman just like me, working hard to better themselves through education. So please, I implore you to keep
