CEO of MVP Health Care

As CEO of MVP Health Care, Denise Gonick has successfully guided the organization through an increasingly complex health care environment and has led its transformation from a regional health plan to a diversified health care company serving a broad array of customers. As part of that work, she brought together a leadership team that exhibits diversity of experiences and talent, a team where 6 of the 11 members are women, which is unusual for most corporate leadership groups, especially in the health care industry. In addition, nearly 75 percent of the MVP workforce is female. Denise initiated MVP’s participation in the Women in the Workplace survey, conducted by McKinsey & Company in partnership with, an annual report that examines the state of women in corporate America. She is passionate about helping other women realize their leadership potential and is a frequent speaker on leadership. Denise is also focused on strengthening the health of our community through board service, charitable giving, volunteering and mentoring. Her community involvement includes serving as co-chair of the American Heart Association’s Capital Region Go Red for Women event and as chair of its 2017 Heart Walk.
