Organization has distributed $101,000 since 2006

ALBANY, NY – On Wednesday, October 8 The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region will kick off its third annual grant cycle with an informational program at Girls Incorporated of the Greater Capital Region, 962 Albany Street in Schenectady. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the formal program at 9:00 a.m.

The brief program will include details about the 2009 grant application, comments from a previous successful grant recipient and time for questions. All organizations interested in applying for Women’s Fund grants are encouraged to attend.

The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region promotes the independence, growth and self-determination of women and girls by supporting projects that create systemic change and move women and girls toward financial stability and independence. The Women’s Fund is a collaboration of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region and United Way of the Greater Capital Region. Since its founding in 2006, The Women’s Fund has awarded $101,000 in grants to local organizations.
