On Friday, March 10, 2017, the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region honored three outstanding women of achievement at its ninth Trailblazers Awards Luncheon at the Glen Sanders Mansion.

Maggie Fronk, Ann DiSarro, Elizabeth Miller

Through their generosity of spirit, and leadership, they have blazed trails to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our community.

Our Honorary Committee Chair was Mona Golub. Our Mistress of Ceremonies was Benita Zahn, WNYT/NewsChannel 13.

Silent auction items included: a jewelry piece from Frank Adams Jewelers; a basket of wine; a custom knitted lacy purple poncho; three necklaces from Kenya; and a Color and Cut at Ando Salon.

The Fresh Start Project – Helping women and girls

Following the success of previous collections, the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region collected items at this luncheon to benefit four local women and children in domestic violence shelters in the counties served by the fund - Equinox of Albany County; Unity House of Rensselaer County; Wellspring of Saratoga County; and Safe Inc. of Schenectady County. Thank you to all who donated personal care products!
