October 8, 2008

Nonprofit organizations serving women and girls were invited to an informational program on October 8 to learn about The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region’s 2009 grants process. The session included distribution of the new pre-application form and answering questions regarding our new application process. The brief program also included a case study of a previous successful grant recipient.

The program was held at Girls Incorporated of the Greater Capital Region in Schenectady.

The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region promotes the independence, growth and self-determination of women and girls by supporting projects that create systemic change and move women and girls toward financial stability and independence. The Women’s Fund is a collaboration of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region and United Way of the Greater Capital Region. Since its founding in 2006, The Women’s Fund has awarded $101,000 in grants to local organizations.
