First Annual Grant Program Kickoff
October 19, 2006

Photo of people at Oct. 06 event Our First Annual Grant Program Kickoff was held with nearly 200 in attendance. Our speakers were: Susan Wefald (keynote), Vice President of Planning and Strategy at the Ms. Foundation, and Ai-jen Poo, Lead Organizer for the Domestic Workers United. Elaine Houston, News Anchor, WNYT, emceed this event which raised almost $15,000.

Photo of people at Oct. 06 event Our grant program was presented in detail. Grants will range from $5,000 to $50,000. A not-for-profit must be the lead applicant. Each grant will not address a single cause, but is trying to get to the root of the problem.
