Ways to Financially Contribute to
The Women’s Fund of the Capital Region

The Women’s Fund has many sponsorship opportunities and ways to recognize your generous support throughout the year.

Annual Trailblazers Luncheon
This is The Women’s Fund signature event where our annual grants are announced and the Fund recognizes “Trailblazers” in our community. This luncheon began in 2007 and for the past two years has had about 300 in attendance.

The Trailblazers for 2007 were Teri Bordenave (President and CEO of Girls, Inc), Charlotte Buchanan (retired, McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams) and Jeanne Neff (President of The Sage Colleges).

The Trailblazers for 2008 were Sr. Constance Casey, snjm (President and CEO, Academy of the Holy Names), Jane Golub (Director of Vendor Marketing Programs, Price Chopper Supermarkets) and Candace King Weir (President, C.L. King & Associates, Inc.).

Pre-Reception at Annual Trailblazers Luncheon
This pre-event is for Founding Five Hundred Members only (more than 200) and honored guests of the luncheon.

Lecture Presentation by author of
New York Times bestseller Odd Girl Out

Rachel Simmons, author of Odd Girl Out, will come to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall for a lecture targeted for parents, educators and girls. We expect 1,000 parents and girls to attend.

Semi-Annual Newsletter
Our 4- to 6-page newsletter is published in the fall and spring, and reaches 1,500 corporate, government, non-profit organizations, and individuals in the Capital Region electronically and by U.S. Mail.

Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast
We host an annual breakfast for all Women’s Fund volunteers (about 75) to thank them for their efforts, give them a chance to meet others within the Fund and to learn what all the committees are doing.
